Day 1
The Gateway to Bhutan: Paro's Mountain Welcome
Kuzuzangpola and welcome to Bhutan. Upon arrival at Paro International Airport (2262m), look for your friendly Like Bhutan Travels representative, holding a placard with your name, ready to guide you on your journey.
We'll take you away to a place, where a warm Bhutanese welcome and a delicious lunch await. Take this time to settle in, breathe deep, and allow the serenity of the mountains to wash over you. Later, assemble your bike, a ritual of anticipation for the adventures to come. The choice is yours: a gentle stroll through Paro's charming streets, absorbing the local atmosphere, or a peaceful afternoon of rest, preparing your body and mind for the exhilarating journey ahead.
Day 2
Into the Realm of Legends: The Tiger's Nest Awaits
Witness the impossible made real. Today, you'll ascend to Taktsang Monastery, a fortress clinging on a cliff, where Guru Rinpoche himself once meditated. This is more than a hike; it's a journey into the heart of Bhutanese mysticism, a spectacle that will forever remain into your soul.

Feel the burn in your legs, the crisp mountain air filling your lungs, and the thrill of the climb as you conquer each winding turn. The Himalayas,emerge from the clouds, a breathtaking spectacle that will fuel your spirit. 36 kilometers of relentless climb await, but fear not, our trusty support car will be your guardian angel, ready to swoop in if the mountain's embrace becomes too tight.
At the summit, a feast for the senses awaits, a moment to savor the raw beauty of Bhutan. Then, plunge into the exhilarating 20km descent to the enchanting Haa Valley, a whirlwind of adrenaline and awe. After a well-deserved lunch, we'll explore the valley's hidden corners, a tapestry of rural life. And if the spirit of adventure still burns bright, venture into the surrounding wilderness, a final exploration before the stars claim the sky.
Day 4
Following the Flow- Haa to Thimphu's Ride
Embark on a wild river run to Thimphu! Today, we unleash our wheels on a 115km odyssey, tracing the Haa River's path. For the first 65km, a gentle descent awaits. Watch for mischievous monkeys swinging through the trees and listen for the calls of birds echoing through the valley. This is a journey into Bhutan's untamed heart! As we glide through secluded villages, prepare for a vibrant welcome. Haa, a hidden gem only recently unveiled to the world, will greet us with enthusiastic waves and joyful horns, a testament to the warmth of the Bhutanese spirit.
The last 35km is a high-altitude traverse, carving through dramatic landscapes above the Wang Chu River, where rice fields and whispering forests paint a mesmerizing scene. Then, we plunge into the vibrant heart of Thimphu, a bustling capital pulsing with life! This is where the adventure takes an urban twist. Witness the ancient sport of archery, immerse yourself in the rhythm of local life in the town square, or dive into the city's hidden cafes, each a portal to Bhutanese culture. Your guide, your key to unlocking Thimphu's secrets, will lead the way. And after a day of exploration, claim your victory with a well-earned brew at our centrally located hotel, a perfect end to an epic day.
Day 5
Himalayan Traverse - Thimphu to Punakha's Epic Ride
We depart after breakfast, setting our sights on the heights of Dochula (3050m). A swift 5km warm-up ignites our engines before we tackle the 22km climb, a 700m ascent through a wilderness symphony. At Dochula, we'll find not just stunning views, but a powerful memorial – 111 stupas, a poignant reminder of a nation's resilience. Our support crew will be waiting with refreshments, and if the skies are clear, the Eastern Himalayas will unveil their breathtaking view, a reward for our climb.
Prepare for a gravity-fueled plunge! The descent from Dochu La into the Punakha Valley is a heart-stopping 1600m freefall, a 50km thrill ride through emerald jungles and whispering forests that will leave you breathless. We're diving into Bhutan's ancient heart, Punakha, home to the majestic Punakha Dzong, a winter sanctuary for over 1000 monks. After lunch, we'll delve into Dzong’s corridors, a journey through centuries of history and artistry. Then, we'll conquer the longest suspension bridge, a high-wire adventure spanning the valley, and continue our ride along the opposite side, exploring hidden trails. Our night's refuge is a mountaintop haven, perched high above terraced rice paddies and a flowing river, where we'll be rewarded with panoramic view and a feast, a perfect end to an epic day of exploration
Day 6
A Journey of Renewal - Punakha's Depths to Gangtey's Heights
Embark on a 70km, two-hour odyssey to Gangtey, a journey designed to rejuvenate your spirit after our mountain climbs. Witness a breathtaking transformation as we ascend, leaving behind the familiar pines for the vast, windswept alpine meadows of Gangtey.
This is a place full of natural richness, a winter haven for the legendary, Black-Necked Cranes. Explore the ancient Gangtey Monastery, where intricate carvings and sculptures whisper tales of devotion. Listen as the temple bells echo through the valley, summoning monks to prayer, and perhaps, join their sacred chorus.
As twilight paints the valley, we'll mount our bikes for a ride along the Gangtey Nature Trail, immersing ourselves in the tranquil beauty of Phobjikha. Our journey culminates at the Crane Information Center, where we'll meet two rescued cranes, majestic ambassadors of the wild. Hear their inspiring stories, and forge a connection with these magnificent creatures, a testament to resilience and hope.
Day 7
Gangtey to Thimphu Ride
After yesterday's gentle day, prepare to truly test yourself on Day 7. We'll move from our hotel, tackling a thrilling ascent out of Gangtey, a relentless series of hairpin turns that will reward you with breathtaking panoramas of the alpine meadow stretching towards the Lawala Pass.
Then, a heart-pounding descent plunges us to the Wangdue Phodrang bridge at1300m, where the majestic Wangdue Phodrang dzong will stand before us. A final, gloriously scenic climb to Lobesa awaits, where a well-earned feast. Following this, a two-hour (74 km) drive will take us to Thimphu, marking the end of our journey for the day.
Day 8
Thimphu to Paro: A Cycling Odyssey Through Bhutan's Heart
Embark on an unforgettable cycling adventure today, traversing the scenic Thimphu-Paro National Highway, a ribbon of road winding through Bhutan's enchanting heartland. Picture yourself gliding past emerald paddy fields, through ancient forests whispering secrets, and into serene villages where time seems to stand still.
We'll pause at the sacred confluence of the Thimphu and Paro rivers, marveling at the unique three-style stupas, a vibrant echo of cultural heritage. Along our journey, the historic Tachog Lhakhang beckons, a testament to the legendary Thangtong Gyalpo's brilliance, its 'Hill of the Excellent Horse', a captivating cultural landmark.
Upon arrival in Paro, savor an authentic Bhutanese Lunch, a delicious prelude to further exploration of the valley's breathtaking beauty.
